Golden Tree City Challenge Guide

A brand new challenge has been added to the ever growing list of daily challenges for Halo: Reach. It seems like an assassination contract. This challenge that showed up today is called "Golden Tree City" and the task at hand is to find and destroy a very specific enemy on the legendary difficulty. The enemy in our cross hairs is a Golden Ranger-class elite flying a banshee fast and low on the campaign mission New Alexandria.
This elite has been confirmed to appear on this mission flying in a banshee at a low elevation while constantly boosting. Fast and low? Yes, in fact, by the time I saw him he flew right past me and out of bounds.
So, down to business: Step 1
Set up the game. This means campaign lobby, legendary difficulty, New Alexandria.
Step 2
Start the game! :)
Step 3
Sprint to your falcon and lift off. As soon as you get some air and clear the landing pad, you're going to want to drop down too around 200. There should be a little altitude measurement on your cross hair.
Step 4
Head for the club in the picture shown below and he will be low. Within in the reference of that picture he goes towards the left (someone said NW in comments). Wait around kinda under that circular bridge/road/monorail (there are more than one so this one is near the club) looking thing for awhile. He doesn't appear right away but he spawned for me in about 4-5 minutes. I had a little trouble waiting for him so I just enjoyed killing banshees at this point, this did however distracted me and he flew right past me on my first try.
Step 5!
Kill him at all costs! Even if it means flying into an invisible wall!
Step 5.1
Engorge yourself on an easy 3500 cr! way faster than matchmaking.
WARNING!
Some players have been having an issue with getting there in time to find him or are just missing him. Watch for his boosters, they'll be on while he is alive. Also I believe that he spawns and then his boosters start so if you are fighting banshees listen for a banshee boost.
Also if you don't get him in 8 minutes you missed him and he flew right past you. He might spawn later at some point but if you're sitting around wondering if you missed him and its been past eight minutes, just start over. If that still doesn't work trying changing your area of search. Some people have seen him behind the club as well. I found its really hard to see where you are when you are that low so just keep your eyes peeled.
I found him right in front of the club rather than around its base.

The Club
I tested it out and it works! Just keep an eye out for any suspicious banshees. If they aren't flying directly toward and boosting then thats your target. Additionally don't ignore the banshees that attack you. Take them out quickly and resume scanning your foggy surroundings. I found that the Golden Elite came right around when a bunch of Banshees came from around Club Errera.(Not sure how to spell that!)
he popped up for me a bit off in the distance, we had a real time catching him before he went out, but we got it. Also, if you co-op it, both people get the challenge

He pops up at my 230 min when I was being attacked my multiple banshees he pops out on the side of the building compass direction NW hope this is useful to u all

Have been flying around where you said and in the picture at an altitude of 200 like you said for about 30 minutes now killed lots of banshees flying low but not the golden one because i dont have the challenge done

Awesome guide I got it in 6 mins. I have a render portion of where I was hanging out to avoid Fire and keep an eye out for the Elite. I have a clip render on my Bungie Share thats under a min and a uncut version as well as a screenshot you can download onto your 360 again in my share. Hope it helps!

Ok I'm thinking that if you don't get there in time then he'll fly right through and spawn in a different place, most likely when you complete an objective or trigger something new. Unless he is on a time limit in which you just have to wait or start the mission over. I'll recommend however that you wait for around 8 minutes before you start over. 15 mintues its flat out too much to wait for him though. thx for the comments I'll edit my post with some new info

got it at 6:58. I was right where you said to be but he didnt fly anywhere near me. I happened to notice the banshee boosting quite a ways off in the distance, sort of from behind the club. but i got it thanks to this still since i knew the general area. thanks

Good work. Thank you. He showed up at 7:03. He was a suspicious blip on my radar so i hunted him down and murdered him at 7:42. Very long chase by the way. Helped a bunch. Danka.
Confirmed that it works on co-op. only one person needs to kill the banshee and the whole party will receive credit for it.
Worked perfectly. I saw him in the distance right near the invisible barrier. I missed him but had a checkpoint right before that so I kept reloading the checkpoint until he took a longer path to outside the barrier - I kept hitting him through the barrier until he finally exploded.

sorry if this guide was difficult for some people. I'm not bungie and therefore i cannot predict the behavior of this bot perfectly but i figured if it worked for me then it could work for you! :) thanks for all the input and be sure to check here for any advice regarding unique or easy challenges
I saw him pop up again (or at least another low flying, bursting banshee) around the same spot at the 12:30ish.

Got it at the 6 minute mark. Great guide. I almost missed him because he flew right in front of two banshees that were attacking me.
The guide was really helpful. Was hanging around the club shooting banshees and there he went. Must have been late for a date.
Oh, and the challenge is worth 4500 credits, the guide says 3500.

Ok tried this for 2 hours, restarting the mission after 8 min and nothing zip zltch zero. This might work for others but sure as heck not for me.
